Even though the Temecula Valley Golden Bears scored an imposing 70 points on Friday, the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks still came out on top. Murrieta Valley took down the Golden Bears 85-70. This was payback for Murrieta Valley, who suffered a 81-70 defeat the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for Parker Steffen, who scored 19 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Casillas, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds.
Murrieta Valley has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. As for Temecula Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-13.
