Newport have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They will take on Laconia at 7:00 PM. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
Things haven't been easy for Newport, and their contest last Saturday only extended their streak of losses to seven. They have to be aching after a bruising 14-42 loss to Kearsarge/Mount Royal Academy last Saturday. The state rankings had actually given Newport a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Laconia lost to Monadnock, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 6-44.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
