After flying high against the Suncoast Chargers last Thursday, the Hagerty Huskies came back down to earth. Hagerty fell 57-50 to Windermere Prep on Friday.
Despite the loss, Hagerty still got an impressive performance from Kylee Kitts, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 40% of Hagerty's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciara Hayes, who scored 17 points along with five assists and three steals.
Windermere Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zoe Sedo led the charge by scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Sedo pulled down eight or more rebounds. Eni Oyedeji was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Hagerty's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Windermere Prep, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.
Hagerty on the road again on Thursday and play against Lake Howell at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Lake Howell is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Windermere Prep, Windermere Prep and University will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. University will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 349th, while Windermere Prep is ranked 74th).
