The Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell to Boys' Latin Charter 53-47. Maritime Academy Charter lost against Boys' Latin Charter in their previous head to head back in March of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 55-47 score last time.
Maritime Academy Charter's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andy Figueroa, who scored 15 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Zibri Miller, who scored 7 points along with 11 rebounds and 3 steals.
Boys' Latin Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jihad Ellis out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nasir Davis, who scored 12 points.
Maritime Academy Charter has fallen quite a ways from their 19-6 record last season and are now at 1-3. As for Boys' Latin Charter, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maritime Academy Charter's road trip will continue as they head out to face Carver High School of Engineering & Science at 3:15 p.m. on December 12th. As for Boys' Latin Charter, they will square off against Northeast at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
