Softball Recap: Roseburg Takes Down Ranked North Medford

Roseburg faced North Medford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Indians put the hurt on the Black Tornado with a sharp 11-2 win. Considering the Indians have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jasmine Morales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.

On the hitting side, Cambria Bachmeier was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Terra Singleton was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases and one run.

Roseburg has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for North Medford, they moved to 14-4 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Roseburg and North Medford will both be playing Sheldon the next time they take the field. The Black Tornado will host the Irish at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Indians will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
