The Lennard Longhorns lost against the Durant Cougars back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Lennard took a serious blow against Durant, falling 56-18. While losing is never fun, Lennard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 557th, while Durant is ranked 257th).
Elani-hazel Randall was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds for Durant. The game was Randall's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hailee Rawlins, who scored four points along with eight steals.
Lennard bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.9 points per game. As for Durant, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.
Lennard will be playing at home against Jefferson at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jefferson comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Durant, they will head out on the road to face off against George Jenkins at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
