Rogers is 8-2 against Sumner since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Rogers will venture away from home to challenge Sumner at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Sumner will be up against a hot Rogers squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Rogers came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Emerald Ridge. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since May 8, 2024.

Sierra Murray spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Rogers' victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Payton Walling, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Sumner put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Yelm, sneaking past 9-7.
The team relied heavily on Olivia Alastra, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Abby Dean, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Sumner kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Rogers' win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sumner, their record now sits at 3-0.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rogers hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Sumner struggles in that department as they've averaged .424. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rogers came out on top in a nail-biter against Sumner when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will Rogers repeat their success, or does Sumner has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
