The Arlington Tigers waltzed into their matchup Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 47-41 W over Southwind. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Arlington also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Arlington found their leader in underclassman Zaria Moss, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Moss has scored at least 25% of Arlington's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Miller, who scored ten points along with five assists and three steals.
Despite the loss, Southwind still got an impressive performance from Tashawn Hubbard, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Hubbard is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Camille Sanders was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Arlington's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Southwind, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arlington will take on Collierville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Collierville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Arlington likes a good challenge. As for Southwind, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Germantown at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Germantown is ranked 252nd, while Southwind is ranked 249th).
