East Rowan is 0-5 against Robinson since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The East Rowan Mustangs will be staying on the road to face off against the Robinson Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully East Rowan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Friday.
East Rowan struggled with assists on Friday (West Rowan had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. East Rowan took a serious blow against West Rowan, falling 71-42. While losing is never fun, East Rowan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 592nd, while West Rowan is ranked 104th).
East Rowan's loss came about despite a quality game from Jaden Reid, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Reid set a new season high mark in points with 12. The team also got some help courtesy of Billy Chesney, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Robinson scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past South Rowan 87-48 on the road. That looming 87-48 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Robinson yet this season.
Londen Roseman was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points. Roseman set a new season high mark in points with 22. Da'montre Harlee was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
East Rowan bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Robinson, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as East Rowan and Robinson are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. East Rowan hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 52.3 points per game. It's a different story for Robinson, though, as they've been averaging only 62.8 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
East Rowan opened the new year with a less-than-successful 80-73 defeat to Robinson. Can East Rowan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
