Wimberley has won six straight games at home, while Davenport has won six straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Texans will welcome the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Thursday, Wimberley got the win against Navarro by a conclusive 9-2.
Ty Thames and Jaden Hall were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Thames pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Hall tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Thames has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Thames went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Hall got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Yeatter, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Anderson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Davenport got themselves on the board against Bandera on Thursday, but Bandera never followed suit. They put the hurt on the BULLDOGS with a sharp 18-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the BULLDOGS: they've now won seven in a row.
Travis Kost was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Davenport was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.
Wimberley is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Davenport, their win bumped their record up to 16-3-2.
Wimberley was able to grind out a solid victory over Davenport in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 3-0. Do the Texans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
