Show Low has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Tuesday. They will square off against the Coolidge Bears at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, everything went Show Low's way against Chino Valley as Show Low made off with a 65-42 win.
Show Low can attribute much of their success to Preston Power, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Wallentine, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Coolidge had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bourgade Catholic 88-28 on the road. The result was nothing new for Coolidge, who have now won four matches by 25 points or more so far this season.
Coolidge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ja'kwan Jordan, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. The matchup was Jordan's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Thomas Nelson Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 9 rebounds.
Show Low pushed their record up to 3-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Coolidge, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Tuesday's matchup is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Show Low haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 0 turnovers per game. It's a different story for Coolidge, though, as they've been averaging 13.3 per game. Given Show Low's sizeable advantage in that area, Coolidge will need to find a way to close that gap.
