Providence Academy were the 65-45 winner over Berean Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Providence Academy fell just short of Berean Christian by a score of 59-56. Providence Academy has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Berean Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Deonte Smith out in front who scored 20 points along with six steals. Smith hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Ballinger, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Providence Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6. As for Berean Christian, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.
Providence Academy will head out on the road to face off against Grace Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Berean Christian, they will play host again and welcome Knoxville A, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
