Softball Recap: Centennial Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Centennial had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Everman Bulldogs 17-0. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Kendall Cottongame looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Centennial got a massive performance out of Madison Haynes, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Kaelyn Weldon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Centennial pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Everman, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12-1.

Centennial wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 11-1 victory against Joshua on the 14th. As for Everman, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-0 defeat against Cleburne on the 14th.
