Basketball Recap: Auburndale Sets Scoring Season-High Against Vanguard

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Auburndale). They blew past the Vanguard Panthers 83-61 on Thursday. The Bloodhounds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Auburndale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camren Sneed, who posted 15 points and four steals. Those 15 points gave Sneed a new career-high. Jaden Lindsay was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Despite the loss, Vanguard saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Turral Berry put up 24 points and three steals. Berry's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jakhai Ford, who earned seven points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Auburndale has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Vanguard, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Auburndale has already played their next contest, a 65-56 victory against George Jenkins on the 17th. Vanguard has also already played their next game (against Wekiva), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
