Crawfordsville is 0-6 against Greencastle since August of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Athenians will head out on the road to face off against the Tiger Cubs at 7:00 p.m. Greencastle took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Crawfordsville, who comes in off a win.
Crawfordsville took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against North Montgomery by a score of 39-28. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Athenians considering their three-point performance the contest before.

Crawfordsville can attribute much of their success to Mason McCarty, who rushed for 117 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries, and Diego Velasco, who rushed for 155 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 155 rushing yards gave Velasco a new career-high.
Crawfordsville didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited North Montgomery to a completion percentage of just 34.8%. The team can thank Elijah Lolla-Martinez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Crawfordsville is 3-1 when they limit the passing game like that.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 48 points the game before, Greencastle was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were dealt a 98-13 defeat at the hands of Cascade. The Tiger Cubs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 77-7.
Although Greencastle took the loss, they still got scores from Trevin Long and Taevyn King.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed seven in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of King, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Crawfordsville moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Greencastle, they now also have a losing record of 3-4.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Crawfordsville has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 194 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Greencastle, though, as they've been averaging only 79.3 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Crawfordsville might still be hurting after the 27-6 loss they got from Greencastle in their previous meeting back in August of 2021. Thankfully for the Athenians, Keifer Wilson (who rushed for 194 yards and three scores) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
