The Rock Lions were the 71-50 winner over the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Rock ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-41 walloping at the hands of St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday.
St. Thomas Aquinas found their leader in underclassman Drake (DJ) Sandi, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 assists. Sandi is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ayden (AJ) Ambrose, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
The Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Rock will take on Central Pointe Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they will be playing at home against South Plantation at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. South Plantation is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
