On Friday, the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans's game was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Centennial by a score of 17-7. Given Greater Atlanta Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Centennial is ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gianlucca "gl" Tiberia was his usual excellent self, rushing for 140 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Tiberia hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games.
Greater Atlanta Christian pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Northview and 2-8 Meadowcreek (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 24.5% over those games). As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Greater Atlanta Christian will face off against Dalton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Centennial is on the road again on Friday and play against Cartersville at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. Cartersville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
