The Fordland Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against School of the Ozarks, falling 64-34. Fordland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-16.
School of the Ozarks was led to victory by Caleb Widner and Graham Wilhoit. Widner scored 20 points along with six assists and four steals, while Wilhoit dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Shadrach Thompson, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Fordland's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-5. As for School of the Ozarks, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
After both having extra time off, Fordland and Sparta will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. School of the Ozarks will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bradleyville at 8:00 p.m. on January 25, 2024.
