Layton Christian Academy took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 51-0 victory over Providence Hall. The result was nothing new for Layton Christian Academy, who have now won four matches by 42 points or more so far this season.
Layton Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Trevor Halalilo, who rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Halalilo hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Miles, who rushed for 50 yards and two touchdowns.
Layton Christian Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points per game. As for Providence Hall, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.
Layton Christian Academy will face off against South Summit at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Summit knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Layton Christian Academy likes a good challenge. Providence Hall does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
