The Leigh Longhorns lost to the Oak Grove Eagles back in February of 2016, but the Leigh Longhorns didn't allow the Oak Grove Eagles the same satisfaction on Friday. Leigh enjoyed a cozy 62-47 win over Oak Grove.
Caleb Asante was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Leigh's points. Cooper Smith was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Leigh is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Oak Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leigh will challenge Christopher at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oak Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Evergreen Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
