This season hasn't been kind to the Winter Springs Bears, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were dealt a 65-36 defeat at the hands of Lake Howell on Tuesday. Winter Springs was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lake Howell apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
When it comes to explaining why Winter Springs lost, one person who can't be blamed is Soraya Jokhan. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Jokhan scored a full 69.4% of Winter Springs' points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Winter Springs has fallen quite a ways from their 22-6 record last season and are now at 0-5. As for Lake Howell, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Winter Springs will be home for the holidays to greet Fort Myers at 5:00 p.m. on December 21st. As for Lake Howell, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Mary presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lake Howell in Florida (Lake Mary is ranked 53rd, while Lake Howell is ranked 286th).
