Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Auburn). They put the hurt on the Doherty Memorial Highlanders with a sharp 17-7 victory on Friday. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Jayden Ortiz was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Friedland, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Auburn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Doherty Memorial only posted a batting average of .192.

Auburn's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. As for Doherty Memorial, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Auburn will face off against Southbridge at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Doherty Memorial, they will challenge Bay Path RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Minutemen's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Highlanders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
