Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westbury). They secured a 70-65 W over the Davenport Wolves on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Huskies' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 987th, while the Wolves are ranked 227th).

Davenport's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Mckinney, who went 8 of 13 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Mckinney, who posted 15 points along with six boards and five assists.

Westbury has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Davenport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-2.

Westbury will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Austin at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Davenport, they will welcome Cole at 11:30 a.m. on December 28th. Davenport is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.1 points per game this season.
