It was another big night for Tyler Showalter, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Butler's points. Reece Starnes was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Charlotte Catholic lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chris Eagan, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Gates, who scored 13 points along with six assists.
Butler has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Charlotte Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Butler will square off against Huss at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Huss is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Charlotte Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against East Mecklenburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Allowing an average of 52.2 points per game, East Mecklenburg has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this contest.
