Basketball Recap: Morristown Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Morristown had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They put the hurt on the Knightstown Panthers with a sharp 56-35 win. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 21 points or more this season.

Morristown had a senior duo take command as Emma Nelson went 6 of 12 on her way to 19 points and three blocks and Nevaeh Sanders went 9 for 21 en route to 18 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nelson has scored all season. Olivia Rude was another key player, putting up eight points and three blocks.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anna Roberson, who posted five points along with nine rebounds, six assists, and six steals. The dominant performance gave Roberson a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Lyla Trigg, who scored eight points and seven boards.

Morristown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Knightstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
