The Millsap Bulldogs struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Holliday Eagles had 1100% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Millsap took a serious blow against Holliday, falling 71-41. While losing is never fun, Millsap can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1255th, while Holliday is ranked 134th).
When it comes to explaining why Millsap lost, one person who can't be blamed is Braylon Pugh. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Pugh scored a full 41.5% of Millsap's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tripp Moore, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals.
Keitenn Bristow was his usual excellent self, scoring 42 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals for Holliday. The game was Bristow's third in a row with at least ten points. Grant Cox was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Millsap bumped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Holliday, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Millsap will square off against Tolar at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday. Holliday's road trip will continue as they head out to face Spearman at 1:00 p.m. on December 7th.
