Michigan Lutheran dropped their record down to 5-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Bangor Vikings, falling 13-6. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 7-6.
Addison Peppers put in work no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Emma Sysak made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Addy Wetzel was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
As for Bangor, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The result was nothing new for Bangor, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Michigan Lutheran, Bangor also got a great game from a two-way player: Carley McCoy. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. McCoy was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Alexis Wisniewski was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Wisniewski, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Michigan Lutheran will welcome Bridgman at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Bangor, they will challenge White Pigeon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
