Troy is 8-2 against Doniphan West since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Troy Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Doniphan West Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Troy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Troy suffered a tough 64-39 loss at the hands of Hiawatha. Troy has struggled against Hiawatha recently, as their match on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Troy had strong showings from Gannon Bowe, who scored 15 points, and Jack Hartman, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds. Bowe scored a full 38.5% of Troy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Doniphan West came up short against Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] on Tuesday and fell 57-48. Doniphan West has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
With Troy's win and Hiawatha's loss, both teams now sport identical 1-1 records.
Troy took their victory against Doniphan West in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 57-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Troy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
