After flying high against the Moscow Wildcats on Tuesday, the Satanta Indians came back down to earth. Satanta lost to LaCrosse at home by a decisive 80-61 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Satanta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while LaCrosse is ranked fifth).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead LaCrosse to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Skillett, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Skillett has scored all season. Gage Burk was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Satanta bumped their record down to 1-2 with that loss, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. As for LaCrosse, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Satanta won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ingalls at 4:30 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Ingalls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Friday. LaCrosse won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Minneola. Hopefully Minneola focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
