Oglethorpe County fell 34-27 to Elbert County. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oglethorpe County in their matchups with Elbert County: they've now lost five in a row.
Jacari Barnett was a one-man wrecking crew for Elbert County as he rushed for 195 yards and three touchdowns. Barnett was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Terrez Allen got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Oglethorpe County's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Elbert County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
Oglethorpe County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Elbert County will head out on the road to face off against Trion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trion is on a six-game streak of home wins, Elbert County a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
