Basketball Recap: Father Capodanno Skates Past Spirit of Life Christian Academy with Ease

Father Capodanno had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 33-point drubbing they dealt Spirit of Life Christian Academy on Monday. The Father Capodanno Grunts took their contest with ease, bagging a 52-19 win over the Spirit of Life Christian Academy Eagles. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-6.

Father Capodanno got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gemma Farris out in front who posted ten points along with seven boards and six steals. Farris is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Aubrey Driscoll was another key player, going 7 for 13 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Father Capodanno was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Father Capodanno's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Spirit of Life Christian Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Father Capodanno will face off against Falcon Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spirit of Life Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Non Varsity Opponent at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
