The Trinity Trojans lost against the Colleyville Heritage Panthers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Trinity took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Colleyville Heritage. While losing is never fun, Trinity can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Colleyville Heritage is ranked 160th).
Colleyville Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Journee Hampton led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 6 assists and 4 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hampton has scored at least 25% of Colleyville Heritage's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Cooper, who scored 17 points.
Trinity has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Colleyville Heritage, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity will challenge Weatherford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Weatherford will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Colleyville Heritage, they will head out on the road to face off against Grapevine at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
