Scottsdale Christian Academy has gone 8-1 against Camp Verde recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Eagles will take on the Cowboys at 5:30 p.m. Scottsdale Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Camp Verde's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Saturday, Scottsdale Christian Academy had just enough and edged out Glendale Prep Academy 7-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Luke Troxell was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Scottsdale Christian Academy let Dylan Tims and Trevor Green run wild. Tims went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Green went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Green a new career-high.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Camp Verde, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Red Rock with a sharp 15-0 victory on Thursday. With that win, the Cowboys brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Like Scottsdale Christian Academy, Camp Verde also got a great game from a two-way player: Tyler Georgia. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Georgia was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Camp Verde: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-16 otherwise.
In other batting news, Gunner Selting and Jackson Paceley did most of the damage at the plate: Selting went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Paceley got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Deegan Rodriquez, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Camp Verde was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .550. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Scottsdale Christian Academy's record now sits at 14-6. As for Camp Verde, their record is now 5-16.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Scottsdale Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .357. However, it's not like Camp Verde struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Scottsdale Christian Academy's way against Camp Verde in their previous matchup on April 3rd, as Scottsdale Christian Academy made off with a 15-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
