The Kettle Run Cougars were the 46-32 winner over the Millbrook Pioneers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Kettle Run fell 55-42 to Millbrook on Friday. Kettle Run's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Jada Arrington was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals for Millbrook. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Arrington has scored all season. Valentina Burrill was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Kettle Run now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Millbrook, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kettle Run will take on Sherando at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Sherando is ranked 193rd, while Kettle Run is ranked 212th). As for Millbrook, they will play host again and welcome James Wood, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. James Wood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
