Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southampton Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than G Applewhite, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 23 rebounds. Applewhite is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 18 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of H Hurst, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Southampton Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Tidewater Academy, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southampton Academy will take on the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot is ranked 366th, while the Raiders are ranked 358th). As for Tidewater Academy, they will be playing at home against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amelia Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
