The Calvary Day School Cougars will head out to challenge the Westchester Country Day Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Calvary Day School will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Calvary Day School is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Parkland with a sharp 21-4 win on Wednesday. The Cougars not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 25th.

Emerson Amrich made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Calvary Day School is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise. Amrich was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Patrick Reynolds, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Tyler Woodward also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Calvary Day School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parkland only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Westchester Country Day duked it out with Calvary Day School on Tuesday. The Wildcats took a 20-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.
Jesse Covington made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Engle, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Calvary Day School's record now sits at 8-6. As for Westchester Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Calvary Day School was able to grind out a solid victory over Westchester Country Day in their previous meeting on Tuesday, winning 20-17. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
