The Legacy Tigers will square off against the Schurr Spartans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Legacy 3, Schurr 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Legacy barely beat South Gate the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Rams a 16-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Dail Dorado made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Priscilla Medina, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelen Pedroza, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Legacy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Schurr finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They fell 5-1 to Whittier Christian. That makes it the first time this season the Spartans have let down their home crowd.
Legacy pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Schurr, their loss dropped their record down to 18-5-1.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Legacy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Schurr struggles in that department as they've averaged .385. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Legacy couldn't quite get it done against Schurr when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
