Harbor Creek is 9-1 against North East since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Harbor Creek Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the North East Grape Pickers at 7:15 p.m. Harbor Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 191st, while North East is ranked 21st).
Harbor Creek unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 67-47 walloping at the hands of Warren. Harbor Creek found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up ten fewer assists than your opponent.
Braylen Wilson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Mozdy, who scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Harbor Creek were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, North East had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against Fort LeBoeuf by a score of 55-44.
Harbor Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for North East, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Harbor Creek strolled past North East in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 50-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harbor Creek since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
