Vida Gomez and Alyssa Anaya did most of the damage at the plate: Gomez went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base, while Anaya went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave Gomez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jessica Ramos, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Eagle Rock came tearing into Wednesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 14-2 victory. Considering the Eagles have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Eagle Rock got a massive performance out of Melissa Terrazas, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Julissa Jimenez also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Eagle Rock hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.
Chavez's record now sits at 13-14. As for Eagle Rock, their record is now 17-6.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chavez hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like Eagle Rock struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
