If the Hempstead Bobcats were riding high off their 74-54 takedown of the Danbury Panthers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hempstead ended up on the wrong side of a tough 55-34 walloping at the hands of the Cougars on Friday. Hempstead was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Hempstead's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamari Idlebird, who scored four points. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Blackmon, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Hempstead's loss dropped their record down to 15-15. As for Brazos, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-13.
Hempstead will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hitchcock will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. Brazos will take on the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harmony School of Discovery is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
