Crescenta Valley and La Canada are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2016, but likely not for long. The Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Crescenta Valley comes in on 15 and La Canada on three.
Last Saturday, Crescenta Valley beat San Pedro 6-2.

The team relied heavily on Jimmy Spears, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brock Robeson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, La Canada never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over South Pasadena. The game was the first time the Spartans have beaten the Tigers on their field since April 10, 2023.
Cash Carroll made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Carroll wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Austin Loughrin, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Benji Geller was another, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Crescenta Valley's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for La Canada, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
La Canada's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Crescenta Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. It's a different story for La Canada, though, as they've only averaged .246. Will they be able to contain Crescenta Valley's hitters?
Crescenta Valley was able to grind out a solid win over La Canada in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 9-5. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
