The Wes-Del Warriors will take on the Southwood Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Wes-Del needed a bit of extra time to put away Daleville. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Broncos. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since May 6, 2024.
Bailee West spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Marley Bertram, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Keylie Byrd, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
Wes-Del was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Southwood put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Northfield 25-14.
Natalie Sutphin made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 4-for-6.
In other batting news, Izzy Ashba was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, five RBI, and one stolen base. Rylee Thomas was another key player, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5.
Southwood's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Wes-Del, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.
