The Crossroads Christian Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Calvary Baptist 85-25. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crossroads Christian in their matchups with Calvary Baptist: they've now lost four in a row.
Defeat or not, Crossroads Christian got some senior leadership from Jacob Faldas and Dean MacRitchie. Faldas scored 17 points, while MacRitchie. scored seven points along with two steals. That was a full 68% of Crossroads Christian's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calvary Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Giacomo Ghedini, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ghedini has scored all season. Medard Dabire was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Crossroads Christian dropped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Calvary Baptist, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 22-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crossroads Christian will take on Norton Science & Language Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Calvary Baptist, they will square off against Packinghouse Christian Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Calvary Baptist knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Packinghouse Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
