The San Juan Broncos were the 66-47 winner over the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs when they last played one another back in January of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. San Juan opened the new year with a less-than-successful 62-50 loss to Gunnison Valley.
When it comes to explaining why San Juan lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Rj Dalley. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 0 assists. Another player making a difference was Anthony Done, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
San Juan's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Gunnison Valley, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Juan will face off against South Sevier at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in South Sevier's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. Gunnison Valley and North Sevier will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Sevier is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
