Eureka is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past San Domenico 13-1. The matchup marked the Loggers' most dominant win of the season.
Mackenze Wolff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Macy Secor, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Bailey Brown, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.
Eureka always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
South Fork typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Moreau Catholic proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Cubs with a sharp 9-2 victory. The Mariners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by seven runs or more this season.
Moreau Catholic also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Yazlin Rodrigues gave up just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. Rodrigues has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Moreau Catholic let Sienna Rios and Mia Burrell run wild. Rios went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Burrell went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Olivia Ritchie was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Eureka now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Moreau Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 14-12.
