Marian Catholic waltzed into their game Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They put the hurt on Jim Thorpe with a sharp 73-50 victory. Marian Catholic's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Jacob Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with six assists and three steals. He also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Jesse Rodino was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Marian Catholic's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Jim Thorpe, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marian Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet Lehigh Valley Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lehigh Valley Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 434th, while Marian Catholic is ranked 143rd). Jim Thorpe won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Western Wayne at 6:15 p.m. on December 21st.
