New Franklin has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Sturgeon Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, New Franklin earned a 63-51 victory over Slater. Given New Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Slater is ranked 437th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Sturgeon entered their tilt with Community with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Sturgeon walked away with a 46-35 win over Community on Tuesday.
Isaac Bolles continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Connor Lawson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
New Franklin pushed their record up to 19-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Sturgeon, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for New Franklin against Sturgeon when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 66-37 victory. With New Franklin ahead 32-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
