Heartland II recap Nov. 7, 2012
Lewisburg took down Mifflinburg 38-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Montoursville made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,734 from 3,840. The improvement was the result of 21-6 victory over Loyalsock Township. last week.
Central Columbia's dynamic duo of Jordan Thivierge and Dylan Hine proved tough for Bloomsburg to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Thivierge threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns and Hine had 123 yards receiving. Jarrod Flick helped Central Columbia's passing attack out by catching four balls for 38 yards.
Clay Stoner was the most productive running back in Heartland II this week. He ran for 120 yards on 23 carries as the Warriors fell to the Panthers. Matt Krezmer also contributed to the rushing game with 53 yards on the ground.
5-foot-11 quarterback Thivierge of Central Columbia is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1742. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. On the ground, Montoursville's Stoner has rushed for 1135 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Rob Varano. The Mount Carmel star has 39 catches for 615 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Mount Carmel takes on Jason Hippenstiel's team. As it stands, the RED TORNADOES are in fourth, while the Bluejays are in third.
The Green Dragons led Heartland II in scoring this week after putting up 38 points on the Wildcats.
