It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 64-63 photo finish over Desert Hills. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crimson Cliffs to victory, but perhaps none more so than McKay Lindquist, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lindquist has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Felts, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Desert Hills lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eli Allred. Despite the final result, he scored 35 points along with seven rebounds. Allred is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ben Chase, who scored eight points along with five assists.
The victory got Crimson Cliffs back to even at 7-7. As for Desert Hills, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crimson Cliffs will challenge Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Hurricane focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Wednesday. As for Desert Hills, they will head out on the road to challenge Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
