West Greene proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Washburn Pirates. Winning may never get old, but the Buffaloes sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

West Greene's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Washburn, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Greene will challenge Gatlinburg-Pittman at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Washburn, they will square off against Cumberland Gap at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
